Brachypelma hamorii “Mexican Red Knee”

Brachypelma hamorii, formerly Brachypelma smithi, is a calm tarantula and has a peaceful nature. It belongs to the most famous tarantula in the world! Since Brachypelma hamorii (Mexican Red Knee) does not move much, a terrarium of size 40x30x30 cm is perfectly sufficient. The substrate height of forest humus should be 5 cm. Cork bark or similar hiding places should be offered as hiding places. A bowl for water intake must be offered additionally.

The relative humidity should be 50-70%, the temperature in the terrarium should be 25-28°C. In general, plants in a terrarium are always a good idea, because they improve the climate in the terrarium. But often the plants are completely destroyed by the spider and you have to use a plastic plant. Brachypelma hamorii is a ground dwelling tarantula species.
