Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus proves to be an outstanding alternative to conventional substrate. Made from the sustainably obtained fibres of coconut shells, this substrate offers a variety of attractive properties. By adding water, the pressed coconut humus becomes a loose and natural soil substrate for various terrarium animals and plants in just a few minutes. A single fibre briquette produces about 8 litres of finished substrate.
The Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus has a notch in the middle that allows you to make two separate 4-litre portions. This practical feature allows you to conveniently use the substrate in quantities according to need.
Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus opens up a wide range of applications and has enjoyed growing popularity for years due to its moisturising nature, especially in the keeping of tarantulas. The sustainable production of Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus not only makes this substrate an environmentally friendly choice, but also guarantees excellent quality for the needs of your terrarium animals.
The moisture-retaining properties of the substrate ensure optimum soil moisture, which creates an ideal environment for many terrarium animals and plants.
Whether you keep small reptiles, amphibians or invertebrates, Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus provides them with a natural and pleasant living environment. Its versatility makes it an indispensable foundation for a successful terrarium setup.
Find out for yourself how Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus can become an indispensable part of your terrarium keeping and create a home for your animals that replicates their natural habitat as best as possible.
Please note that the coconut fibre substrate should not be used with first decomposers. Although it has many attractive features and provides an excellent environment for terrarium animals and plants, it is not suitable for millipedes, woodlice, cockroaches and other first decomposers to ingest this material. For the first decomposers, we still recommend the use of forest humus, white rotten wood and food leaves.
Application:
Hobby Terrano Expanding Humus
To optimally prepare the HOBBY Terrano spring humus, use a 10 litre bucket or a suitable container size. Then carefully pour 3-4 litres of lukewarm water over the spring humus and let it soak in for approx. 30 minutes while stirring it occasionally.
This way the block will gradually swell and turn into a loose and natural substrate for your terrarium.
