Short description Harpactira pulchripes:
Harpactira pulchripes is probably one of the most attractive tarantulas in the hobby. The colours of this African tarantula appear from FH4.
The terrarium size for adult females should be a cube measuring 30 × 30 × 30 cm. Spiderlings that are still being reared can be kept in BraPlast tins or rearing terrariums for this long. The substrate height should be chosen high enough so that the animals can build a living cave. A forest humus sand mixture in a ratio of 1:1 is suitable.
The optimal humidity is between 50 and 70 %. A small plant that is watered regularly is sufficient to create these conditions.
The temperature should not exceed 27 °C even in summer, as Harpactira pulchripes reacts sensitively to too high temperatures. In winter you can keep this species in an unheated room at up to 5 °C without any problems.
Harpactira pulchripes eats and grows quickly and without problems. The animals usually become adults after 2 years.
