The Fittonia Pinkalso known as the mosaic plant, is one of the most popular tropical plants for creating near-natural terrariums. Its eye-catching leaves with an intense green base color and bright pink veins provide strong contrasts and give every terrarium a lively, colorful atmosphere. This plant originally comes from the rainforests of South America, where it grows as ground cover in the shady undergrowth regions. It is precisely these natural conditions that make it an ideal choice for warm, humid terrariums with high humidity.

Fittonia Pink prefers a permanently high humidity of around 70-90% and is therefore ideal for rainforest terrariums or bioactive setups. It grows close to the ground, forms bushy cushions and provides hiding places and climbing areas for smaller terrarium inhabitants such as Isopods or amphibians. With its strong coloration, it not only provides structure, but also visual highlights in the foreground or middle ground of the planting.

When it comes to light requirements, the Fittonia pink flexible, but needs good basic lighting. Direct sunlight should be avoided, otherwise the leaves will burn quickly. In terrariums, lighting with approx. 1,500-2,500 lumens optimal to maintain the strong coloration of the leaf veins and at the same time promote healthy growth.

The growth height is usually between 10 and 15 cm, which makes the Fittonia pink can also be easily integrated into smaller pools. Regular spraying or a sprinkler system provide the necessary moisture, while a loose, humus-rich layer of substrate supports root growth.
