The Neoregelia “Atlantis” is an impressive bromeliad that blends perfectly into tropical terrariums with its bright green leaves and striking, reddish-colored accents. It originates from the warm and humid regions of South America, where it grows in the rainforests on trees or close to the ground. This origin makes it a plant that is particularly well suited to humid, tropical climate conditions in the terrarium.

With its rosette-like growth habit, it forms a natural collection point for water and thus actively contributes to the humidity in the terrarium. For many terrarium animals such as frogs, geckos or insects, the plant becomes a valuable micro-habitat that offers hiding places and drinking spots at the same time. Thanks to its dense foliage, the Neoregelia “Atlantis” also creates an authentic jungle atmosphere.

The plant prefers a light intensity of 800-1,200 lumens and copes particularly well with medium, indirect light. Direct sunlight should be avoided as this could burn the leaves. The optimum humidity is 70-90 %which makes it a perfect fit for tropical bioactive setups. Temperatures between 22-28 °C are ideal, although the plant can also tolerate slight fluctuations.

With a height of about 20-30 cm the Neoregelia “Atlantis” compact enough to be used in both larger vivariums and medium-sized terrariums. It is ideal for planting on back walls, but can also be placed on a branch.
