Cyriopagopus spec. ‘Hati Hati’: The dazzling acrobat of the rainforest
Cyriopagopus spec. “hati hati”, known for its remarkable presence and impressive character, is an arboreal tarantula from Southeast Asia. The name “hati hati”, which translates from Indonesian as “be careful”, indicates the caution required when caring for these fascinating tarantulas. This species is characterized by its striking colours and dynamic behaviour, making it a highlight in any terrarium.
The Cyriopagopus spec. “hati hati” has a robust body with long, strong legs that enable it to navigate skillfully in its arboreal habitat. The basic coloration of this spider can range from deep brown to a dark grey, often accentuated by shimmering metallic blue or purple tones on the legs and carapace, which are particularly effective under direct light.
A vertically oriented terrarium measuring 20 x 20 x 30 cm is ideal for keeping this tree-dwelling spider, offering plenty of climbing opportunities such as branches, pieces of bark and robust plants. This decoration allows the spider to live out its natural climbing instincts.
