Brief description:

Zootrophion hirtzii is found in Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. It grows there epiphytically (epiphytic plant) in humid montane forests or cloud forests at altitudes of 1500 to 1900 meters. The approx. 5 cm high mini orchid is therefore perfect as a perennial plant. The climbing mini orchid is ideal for overgrowing trunks and stones.

Zootrophion hirtzii can cope with 10-15000 Kelvin. The plant thrives well at 20-30 °C and is therefore also suitable for warmer terrariums. It should be sprayed with rainwater at least twice a day. Zootrophion hirtzii can be divided and propagated by the tendrils.
