Restrepia trichoglossa

Brief description:

Restrepia trichoglossa is found in Panama, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador. It grows there epiphytically (epiphytic plant) in humid cloud forests at altitudes of 300 to 3200 meters. This is why the approx. 15 cm tall mini orchid is perfect as an epiphyte, but it can also be planted very well in small pots in the terrarium. It is best to cover the pot with some moss and can also be taken out of the terrarium if necessary.

Restrepia trichoglossa can cope with 6500-7000 Kelvin. The plant thrives well at 20-30 °C and is therefore also suitable for warmer terrariums. It should be sprayed with rainwater at least twice a day. Restrepia trichoglossa grows bushy and can be propagated by dividing the stock.
