Execution:
Hobby vermiculite Ø0-4 mm: Contents 4 L. Substrate for incubating reptile eggs. Fine grain size of 0 – 4 mm with greater water potential, which is closer to the eggs. Recommended for small and soft-shelled eggs.
Hobby vermiculite Ø3-6 mm: Contents 4 L. Substrate for incubating reptile eggs. Coarse grain size of 3 – 6 mm with improved gas exchange due to more air-filled pores. Recommended for large and hard-shelled eggs.
Description:
Substrate moisture has a significant influence on the development of reptile eggs. Soft-shelled eggs in particular absorb large amounts of moisture during incubation. Substrate moisture can be controlled by the amount of water added and the grain size. Fine-grained vermiculite has a greater water potential and lies closer to the eggs. It is recommended for small and soft-shelled eggs. Coarser vermiculite improves gas exchange due to more air-filled pores. It is recommended for large and hard-shelled eggs. Replace evaporated water regularly. Incubate only as many eggs per container as half the weight of the water. Do not allow the relative humidity to fall below 70% for hard-shelled eggs and 90% for soft-shelled eggs.
- Regulates the water balance of the eggs in the incubator
- Protects delicate eggs from rolling back and forth
- In two different grain sizes for large or small eggs
- High-quality breeding substrate for breeding success
