Foliage is a staple food for many primary and secondary decomposers. These include Isopods, springtails, Diplopoda, Echytraa and many others. The animals prefer to eat rotting leaves rather than freshly fallen leaves. This can be wonderfully observed in the forest floor, where the life of the first decomposers begins in the lower forest floor layers.

For this reason, we have fermented the fodder foliage. Fermentation breaks down the lignin contained in the foliage. This allows the animals to better absorb and utilize the ingredients.

NEW: NOW STERILIZED
Our feed foliage has been stored for at least 72 hours at -26°C and is therefore free of black flies and mites.

In the first step, we use normal mixed foliage. We add water and bacteria to the mixed foliage and leave it to ferment for 6 weeks.

Bacteria have broken down the lignin and the leaves have rotted within a very short time. The fermentation results in relatively solid clumps of leaves.

The fermented leaves are chopped in the final step. This loosens it up again and makes it easier to dose.
