Beetle Jelly- The Easiest Recipe

Nowadays, there is a large variety of different Beetle jelly on the Internet. The brightly coloured Beetle jelly immediately catches the eye and you can guess where they got the nickname “gummy bears for insects”. But do our pets or feeding animals need Beetle Jelly? Actually, this question can be answered briefly and succinctly with a clear no.
But you wouldn’t be reading my blog here if you didn’t know for sure there’s a little bit more to come.
Beetle jelly is the industry’s answer to the needs of working owners who go on holiday and still want to provide their pets with appropriate nutrition.
From our point of view it has many advantages: You don’t have to rush to the supermarket and you don’t have to worry about whether you should rather use organic fruit, canned fruit or perhaps the cheaper “conventional fruit”. Beetle jelly can be stored neatly at home without going bad in a very short time. In the terrarium they can be kept for several days without fruit flies forming or fermentation. This also prevents bad smell. With Beetle-Jelly we calm our conscience while we work or relax on vacation.
Unfortunately, it is often the case that our pets like Beetle Jelly and are so fixated on it that they reject other food. We also often like things that are not good for us. However, the industry is also very much involved in this. To make the animals eat something that does not correspond to nature, the Beetle Jelly are often flavoured and coloured.
A durability of up to 3 years cannot be achieved without preservatives. So now everyone can imagine what is in these colourful Bettle Jelly. Often you won’t find any ingredients on the supplier pages on the net and on the unlabelled Beetle Jelly not at all.
If you do not want to do without the advantages of Beetle jelly, but still want to offer your animals a healthy diet, you should prefer a supplier who does not offer imported goods from China, or you can venture into the kitchen and help yourself.
INGREDIENTS
For approx. 570ml Beetle-Jelly • Preparation time approx. 15 Min.
- 120 g Fruit or Vegetable of your choice
- 350 ml Water
- 250 g Sugar
- 8 g Agar-Agar (100%)
- 1 Tea Spoon Honey
INSTRUCTIONS
- Cut the fruit or vegetables into small pieces and put them in a container with half of the water indication.
2. Puree both ingredients finely and empty them into a saucepan with the remaining water.
3. Turn on the stove, empty the sugar into the pot and stir until it has dissolved
4. Shortly before cooking, add the agar-agar and cook the paste for about 2 minutes until the mixture attracts and becomes viscous.
5. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool down for about 1 minute Now add the honey and stir.
6. Fill the jelly in portions and seal it airtight.
